Dear Agate School District Families,
As we welcome the month of March, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership in creating a thriving learning environment for our students. Spring is just around the corner, bringing new opportunities for growth, engagement, and achievement within our school community.
Upcoming Events & Important Dates
Read Across America Assembly - March 3rd at 2:35 (grades p-s through 6th)
March All School Assembly - March 6th at 2:35 with Mrs. Malcolm leading
Junior/Senior Trip to WyoTech! - March 10th & 11th with Mr. & Mrs. Koehn leading
Spring Break: March 17 - 20 – Enjoy a well-deserved break! Classes will resume on March 24, 2025
School Updates & Initiatives
New Horticulture Program: We are excited to launch a secondary horticulture program with our brand new greenhouse! Mrs. Malcolm leading is leading students through the classes and they will be selling plants this spring!
Elementary Seedlings Program: Mrs. Satterfield is leading our Seedlings Program with our elementary students. She is in the process of writing a grant to secure some funding! She will begin by using the fenceline to plant a pumpkin patch!
WyoTech Overnight Trip: Mr. & Mrs. Koehn will be leading our Juniors and Seniors on a trip to WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming on March 10th.
The Longhorn Coffee Shop continues to be a huge success! Recently the state came out to visit the shop and attend Mr. Koehn’s business class. They were so impressed with our students and their work! They are going to make a video and share pictures of their trip to Agate on the CDE website! When I see it, I’ll send everyone the link!
Safety & Security: Our district continues to prioritize student safety. We appreciate your cooperation with our check-in procedures and emergency drills.
A Note of Encouragement
March is a time of transition, and I want to remind our students to stay motivated and focused as they approach the final stretch of the academic year. Parents, your support at home plays a vital role in their success, and we appreciate all that you do.
